The Manager, Strategy & Analysis will directly support the Warner Media Entertainment’s (HBO) strategy team and partner with other business units to develop analyses that deepen the company’s understanding of the video subscription landscape, transactional dynamics and trends in consumer behavior. The individual will be responsible for creating and working with analytic datasets and conducting quantitative analyses designed to identify opportunities and risks for the company.
The role is based in New York, NY and reports to the Director of Strategy and Analysis.
Analyzing operational and financial information from video producers and distributors, closely monitoring industry trends and projections, and advising various groups on the potential impacts on the company’s current and future business strategies.
Providing senior management and other internal stakeholders with market intelligence using a storytelling approach to effectively communicate complex ideas, add context and facilitate understanding.
Collaborating with other business units to help develop strategic narratives, evaluate the company’s competitive landscape and identify emerging market trends.
Exploring third party data sources to enhance the company’s analyses and expand its capabilities to identify potential opportunities.
The ideal candidate will be highly analytical with strong critical thinking skills and rigorous attention to detail. This individual should have strong verbal and written communication skills and should be able to clearly articulate methodologies and results.
Strong working knowledge of Excel and experience with data analysis tools. Ability to distill large amounts of complex data into executive-facing strategic narratives.
Experience creating and working with large analytic datasets using programming languages such as SQL, R or Python.
5+ years of hands-on data analysis experience with the ability to extract, analyze and summarize large volumes of data from complex datasets.
Experience with subscription-based services or in TMT sector is strongly preferred.
