Director, Production Finance
What will you be doing?
This position services original animation productions at Cartoon Network Studios. The Studio is a strategic and growing business for the network and provides key creative direction and branding to both domestic and international Cartoon Network channels. The Director of Production Finance directly oversees process flow, policies and procedures, and business direction related to multiple aspects of production finance for a portfolio of projects. The Director will serve as a department head providing leadership to six staff members and reporting to VP of Finance. It requires a highly motivated individual that can interact well with others, including upper management and especially the Studio's general manager.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Partner with various line producers to provide financial support from beginning to end of the production process, including developing production budgets, project set-up and cost reporting
Oversee payroll function for all in-house
Oversee month end close process
Develop and maintain reports
Provide day to day management support
Prepare ad-hoc analysis as needed
Ensure process flow and proper controls are in place
Evaluate and implement efficiencies and best practices to improve operations and department processes
What do we need from you?
~10 years of animation production finance/accounting experience - we ideally would prefer a focus on 2D animation BUT, are flexible with CG/VFX
Experience in handling a large number of simultaneous productions
Budgeting and costing experience in Movie Magic and Global Vista
Deep understanding of union working conditions
Moderate Excel skills
Supervisory experience
4 year degree in business related field preferred
Self-motivated and able to handle and prioritize multiple tasks in order to meet deadlines
High emphasis on teamwork, collaboration, data analysis, and process innovation
