The Team
WarnerMedia’s Applied Analytics division exists to drive or enable the identifying, understanding, reaching, and persuading of individual content consumers at scale through advanced analytic solutions. The team unifies Data Science, Primary Research, Software Development and Marketing Strategy teams to enable scalable, real-time interaction and state-of-the-art modeling with data ingested from multiple sources on our proprietary platforms. Based in Boston with offices in New York, Atlanta, LA and Shanghai, our 50+ full time staff and rotating group of Quantitative Analytics Fellows work across all WarnerMedia brands.
The Job
Applied Analytics is seeking a Director to join our team. The Director is responsible for delivering on strategic projects, including producing actionable marketing insights and recommendations for Warner Brothers films as well as leading various projects within Turner. The Director has prior experience which makes him/her an expert on advertising platforms (e.g., Facebook, Google, Twitter, etc.) and will quickly become an expert on the Applied Analytics team's proprietary tools. The Director will be responsible for delivering holistic solutions, spanning across audience insights, media, and content. The Director will have several direct reports and excels in mentorship, project management, and helping others progress in their careers. Candidates for this position should be highly motivated, self-assured team players with strong paid and earned media skills. It's expected that the candidate will have outstanding analytical, communication, team management, and project management skills as well as an interest in entertainment. The ideal candidate will also have experience managing large, complex digital campaigns for Fortune 500 brands.

- Routinely assess and validate stakeholder needs and develop solutions that best address those needs
- Focus on data driven solutions that achieve ROI goals and other objectives
- Create and manage project plans; ensure projects are on track to meet deliverables on time, on budget, and with high quality
- Orchestrate contributions of an interdisciplinary team, marshaling other resources that may not be directly on your team
- Proactively lead initiatives with executive client stakeholders; develop mutual performance objectives, targets, critical milestones and measurements for success
- Collaborate, negotiate and persuade, while maintaining positive relationships with employees, peers, internal stakeholders, and third-party partners
- Lead teams that execute multiple ongoing marketing & analytics projects simultaneously
- Review presentations prepared by the Applied Analytics team and provide feedback to ensure recommendations are clear and actionable
- Develop a cohesive team culture and successfully manage conflict
- Play a key role in the professional development and performance review of staff
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Digest large amounts of information/data and distill it into an integrated, concise communication
- Effectively communicate WB film marketing insights and recommendations that convey a strong narrative directly to the President of Applied Analytics
- Communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences effectively Demonstrate Expertise
- Display ability to craft a compelling story out of data and effectively alter presentation style to fit the needs of different levels within the organization, from Managers to EVPs
- Proficient on multiple digital media platforms and stay abreast of new features and trends; build relationships with digital publishers that help secure beta opportunities
- Spearhead internal R&D including working closely with Data Scientists and Software Developers to create innovative solutions to solve business issues and improve efficiency across the organization
- Develop new operational processes and/or identify new technology and tools that create efficiency within the team
- BS/BA degree in business or liberal arts;
- Graduate degree a plus
- 8+ years of experience in digital marketing, marketing strategy, or marketing analytics required
- 2+ years of experience with TV buying, Google DBM, or YouTube preferred
- 3+ years of experience leading a team of direct reports
- Ability to listen, dissect a business, understand challenges, and deliver solutions
- Experience navigating complex organizational environments with multiple stakeholders
- Proven ability to build relationships with VP+ level clients
- Operational capabilities for driving accuracy, quality, innovation, and efficiency
- Proven leadership in raising the bar, contributing new ideas to the business, and earning respect
- Organized and ability to manage and prioritize a high volume of detailed tasks; experience with agile project management preferred
- Willingness to travel up to one-third of the time (primarily to LA and NYC)
- Strong, positive executive presence
- Solid judgment in knowing when to address issues independently and when to escalate
- A self-starter who is collaborative and flexible
- Comfortable with both working behind the scenes in Excel and interacting with senior stakeholders
- High level of self-confidence, "get it done" spirit and a strong work ethic
